ADB finances 25 million USD for Vietnam's SMEs
Hanoi (VNA) - The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will provide a 25 million USD loan for the Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Sacombank) to support Vietnam 's small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
An agreement to this effect was signed between ADB and Sacombank
representatives in Bali , Indonesia on May 4.
Accordingly, the six-year loan aims to increase SME access to credits,
including financial leasing.
Having financed Vietnam 's projects over the last years, the ADB focuses
on poverty reduction, education, rural infrastructure development and
building of power plants and expressways.
At a recent meeting with State Bank Governor Nguyen Van Giau in Bali on the
occasion of the ADB 42 nd annual meeting in Bali, ADB President Haruhiko
Kuroda said he hoped the bank would further expand financial and policy
assistance to Vietnam in the future.-Enditem
