Industry Minister holds call with Portuguese Secretary of State for Trade

Manama, Mar. 23 (BNA): Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister, Zayed bin Rashid Al-Zayani, today held a phone call with the Portuguese Secretary of State for Trade, Services and Consumer Protection, João Torres. The two sides discussed the frameworks of bilateral investment cooperation, and the new opportunities to broaden the scope of the existing partnership in order to serve the two friendly countries’ strategic policies and visions. They also discussed the new phase of the negotiations on the free trade agreement between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), under the chairmanship of Bahrain (the president of the current session), and the European Union (EU), chaired by Portugal, in addition to topics of mutual concern and ways to increase the volume of bilateral investments.
