Handball: Al Sadd Edges Al Shamal

Doha, March 24 (QNA) - Al Sadd defeated Al Shamal on Tuesday 29-27, in the eighth round of the Qatari handball league. Al Sadd were relatively comfortable in the first half, coming out on top 16-12. Al Shamal tried to get back in the game in the second half but they could not overturn the deficit. The win gives Al Sadd their 14th point, they sit in seventh place. Meanwhile Al Shamal remain eighth with only 12 points. Yesterday's matches saw Al Wakra battled past Al Ahly 26-24. Al Rayyan also beat Al Khor 26-21, while Al Gharafa eased past Qatar SC 38-27. Al Arabi are currently top of the table, two points ahead of Al Wakra. Al Rayyan are the hold the record of most league wins, with a total of 14. (QNA)
