Public Security Chief hails bilateral Bahrain-UK ties

Manama, Mar.24 (BNA): The Joint Security Work Team between Bahrain's Ministry of Interior and UK Home Office has held its 11th meeting virtually.
The meeting was co-chaired by the Chief of Public Security Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan and Head of International Cooperation and Delivery Team (ICDT) of the UK Home Office Mark Challen.
Interior Ministry Undersecretary Shaikh Nasser bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Deputy Ambassador of the United Kingdom Stuart Summers and representatives from both sides attended.
Lt-Gen. Al Hassan welcomed the attendees, hailing the UK's cooperation with Bahrain's security authorities and the development of bilateral ties between the two friendly countries.
He conveyed the greetings of the Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa and his best wishes for the meeting's success.
The meeting reviewed topics related to enhancing the performance of security directorates to meet the Ministry of Interior's strategy in promoting cybersecurity. Along with the competency of the ministry's various sectors to achieve performance excellence.
The two sides discussed the latest development stages of the Royal Academy of Police's scientific training in cooperation with the Huddersfield University of Durham Police to hold courses and offer academic programmes.
The meeting highlighted the development of training courses on airport security and procedures of the customs, passports, and residence affairs by utilising the latest technologies in aviation security to promote the security of Bahrain International Airport to meet security requirements.
It shed light on the development of training for reformation and rehabilitation centres to provide the best services and work procedures to reinforce human rights values.
At the end of the meeting, Lt-General Al Hassan expressed thanks to the UK Home Office for promoting security cooperation between the two friendly countries.
