Qatar Football History and Documentation Committee Begins its Work

Doha, April 08 (QNA) - The documentation committee under the umbrella of the Qatar Football Association (QFA) began its tasks of recording and documenting the history of Qatari football from its inception until now, with which the sports football movement in Qatar was launched, through the history of Qatari clubs and the achievements of Qatari football at the level of teams, clubs and individuals until hosting the World Cup Qatar 2022. The Executive Committee of the Qatar Football Association issued a decision to establish the documentation committee headed by Ali Daoud, and Khaled Mubarak Al Kuwari as Vice President, and with membership of each of Abdullah Ali Al Muhannadi, Ibrahim Shaheen Al Sulaiti, Jasim Al Mulla, Ibrahim Azzam and Mirna Ammar, in addition to the use of a number of competent figures in the field of documentation and archiving. One of its most important tasks was to document everything related to Qatari football, to be a documented source for all tournaments organized by the federation, and to be an important reference for media professionals and athletes alike, and this decision came within the framework of the institutional development that the federation undertakes in order to raise the level of administrative and organizational work within the union according to the developments of the work for the next stage and to achieve the vision of the union 2021 What Qatar Football History Documentation Committee is doing reflects the great effort that indicates interest and awareness of its importance and the roles entrusted to it. The Qatar Football Association signed a memorandum of understanding with the Qatar National Library, with the aim of exchanging knowledge and experiences to promote scientific development and cultural and technical prosperity in the State of Qatar, as working with a leading and specialized library - such as the Qatar National Library - will have positive repercussions on sports work in general and football in general. The Memorandum of Understanding, signed in January of this year 2021, laid out a clear framework for cooperation between the two parties in various fields, especially those related to the documentation process in the field of football. A major and lasting contribution will also be made on the sports side, in preparation for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, as well as leaving a deep cultural legacy in the Middle East and the world in general, which reflects the sincere desire of the two parties to achieve a qualitative leap in this field to be a legacy for present and successive generations.(QNA)
