Al Shamal Champion of Qatar Second Division League

Doha, April 12 (QNA) - Al Shamal crowned winner of Qatar Second Division League after beating Al Shahania 3-0 in the match held Sunday at Hamad bin Khalifa Stadium. With this win, Al Shamal officially qualifies to play in the next season of QNB Stars League. Al Shamal was in the second place with 42 points behind Al Shahania which was in the first place with 45 points. Al Shamal succeeded in achieving a victory that raised its points to 45, equal to Al Shahania's, but it outperformed in the direct clash, according to Article 8 of the Second Division League regulation which provides for resorting to confrontations in the event that two or more teams have equal points. The second-placed Al Shahania will play the decisive match against Al Khor which ranks 11th penultimate in QNB Stars League, with 17 points. The winner will promoted to play in the Stars League. (QNA)
