Political Affairs Undersecretary praises steady growth of Bahraini-Indian cooperation

Manama, Apr. 20 (BNA): The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, today received the Ambassador of the Republic of India to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Mr. Piyush Srivastava. Dr. Shaikh Abdullah welcomed the Indian Ambassador and praised the historical and distinguished relations between the two friendly countries, highlighting the abundance of opportunities available in various investment and strategic sectors that will expand the partnership between the two friendly countries in order to achieve common aspirations. The Undersecretary for Political Affairs shed light on the success of the work of the third meeting of the High Joint Commission (HJC) between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of India, chaired by the Foreign Ministers of the two countries, which was held in New Delhi on April 7, noting his appreciation towards the mutual keenness to strengthen the frameworks for joint cooperation in all fields, and to address the repercussions of COVID-19. The Indian Ambassador expressed his country's aspiration to develop the existing close friendship and cooperation with Bahrain in the interest of the two friendly countries, wishing the Kingdom continued progress and prosperity. The meeting also discussed a number of topics of bilateral cooperation, in addition to the exchange of views and coordination on issues of common interest.
