Nasser Al Khelaifi Named President of ECA

Paris, April 22 (QNA) - The European Club Football Association announced the appointment of Qatari Nasser Al Khelaifi, president of French club Paris Saint-Germain, as president of the association, succeeding Italian Andrea Agnelli. The statement issued today on the official website of the European Club Association added that the German first vice president, Michael Gerlinger, was also appointed alongside the current vice-presidents, namely the Dutch Edwin van der Sar from Ajax and Dariush Mioduski from Legia Warsaw, in addition to Aki Riihilahti from Helsinki. Nasser Al Khelaifi said, in a statement to the associations official website, "I am honored that I have been selected by my colleagues in the Executive Committee of the European Union, and as a host at the present time we are required to implement leadership, integrity and teamwork, more than ever, because we live in pivotal moments in a world.
