Kyrgyz students win prizes at 55th Int'l Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad

Bishkek, April 27, 2021 . / Kabar /. Students from Kyrgyzstan won prizes at the 55th International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad, the press service of the Kyrgyz Education Ministry said on Tuesday. Four Kyrgyzstani students took part in the Olympiad held on April 20-26, 2020 in an online format. As a result, Kamil Mambetov and Nadezhda Ondrina won the silver and the bronze medals, respectively. The International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad is a major international competition for students in chemistry. It started in the USSR as the All-Union Olympiad in Chemistry in 1967. This year, the 55th International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad was conducted virtually. Teams from more than 25 countries, including Austria and Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan and Macedonia, Armenia and Israel, Belarus and Hungary, Bulgaria and Syria, Georgia and Latvia, Iran and Kazakhstan, Estonia and Kyrgyzstan, Serbia and Slovakia, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, Lithuania and Turkey participated in it.
