Saudi Coach: Arab Cup an Important Step in Preparation for World Cup Qatar 2022

Doha, May 06 (QNA) - Herve Renard, coach of the Saudi football team, stressed the importance of participating in the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021, especially as it is being held in light of the approaching final qualifying rounds for the World Cup 2022 Qatar. In a statement today, Renard expressed his happiness at the return of the Arab Championship, indicating that its timing is appropriate as an important step in preparing Saudi national team for the World Cup. Regarding the goal he seeks from the Arab Cup, the French coach confirmed that he will throw all his weight in this tournament in order to win the third title for the Saudi team after the 1998 and 2002 titles, stressing the strength of his Group, which includes Morocco and the winner from Jordan and South Sudan or Palestine and Comoros, indicating that strong confrontations awaits them not only in the group but in the following rounds of the tournament due to the strength and history of the teams participating in the Arab Cup.
