Shura Chairman praises HM King’s reform project to boost Bahraini press

Manama, May 6 (BNA): Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh indicated that the reform project of His Majesty the King contributed to opening many bright horizons for Bahraini press, and making it an effective partner in promoting the principles and values ​​of democracy, and exercising freedom of opinion and expression in accordance with responsible national constants. Marking Bahrain Press Day on May 7, he affirmed that the Bahraini press was able to keep pace with modern media developments and means, and worked through distinguished press and media cadres to consolidate their national roles, spread awareness and educate society. Shura chairman pointed out that the local press is highlighting achievements and the successes witnessed by the comprehensive development march in Bahrain under HM the King’s leadership. Al Saleh expressed his pride in the appreciation of His Majesty the King, for the role of the legislative and executive branches, and the constructive cooperation and coordination between them, especially in researching and discussing the draft law regulating the press, printing and publishing, stressing that the law will be an advanced model and legislative framework, and will contribute to opening up wider areas for publishers, and media institutions, and it will create opportunities for media creativity and innovation in proposing issues, as well as fulfilling the aspirations of media professionals to be a modern and integrated law.
