Saudi Press: Saudi Arabia Plays Vital Role in Achieving Stability, Security and Prosperity, Regionally and Globally
Riyadh, May 11, 2021, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas.
Al-Yaum newspaper reported in its editorial that in the recent days, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, held several meetings with world leaders. HRH the Crown Prince received Prime Minister Imran Khan of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. He also held a meeting with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces.
The newspaper also pointed to HRH the Crown Prince's meeting with the US Special Envoy to Yemen, Tim Linder King, as they discussed the latest developments on the Yemeni arena and in addition to reviewing the joint efforts exerted to reach a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis.
HRH Crown Prince also met with the Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias, as they reviewed the bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Greece, in addition to aspects of joint cooperation in various fields, the paper added.
Such meetings and discussions that HRH the Crown Prince held with those leaders and high-ranking diplomatic officials came to discuss major challenges and common issues, in addition to discussing the current regional situations and the efforts being exerted in this regard, the paper further added.
These meetings have obviously confirmed the vital and key role being played by Saudi Arabia in achieving stability, security and prosperity in the region and the world, the paper concluded.
In another context, Al-Riyadh and Al Eqtisadiah newspapers reported in their editorials that HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's order to double housing projects north of Riyadh comes as an extension of his interest in the quality of life and improving the services being provided for citizens.
The housing program, which was launched in 2018, focused on setting new standards and providing housing options and various financing solutions that contribute to increasing the percentage of Saudi families owning houses, the papers added.
In this regard, HRH Crown Prince has directed to allocate new residential lands at an area of 20 million square meters north of Riyadh in addition to the transfer of their ownership to the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing. Moreover, this allocation aims to increase the residential area of Al-Jawan suburb from 10 million square meters to 30 million square meters, the papers further added.
This step will add additional areas to the housing sector up to more than 53,0000 various housing units in partnership with the private sector, which will also contribute to stimulating the real estate sector, the papers concluded.
