Bahrain Ambassador to Brussels meets Belgian House of Representatives President

Brussels, May 20 (BNA): The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Brussels, accredited to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the Kingdom of Denmark and Representative to the European Union and NATO, Dr. Bahia Jawad Al-Jishi, met President of the House of Representatives, Eliane Tillieux, at the House of Representatives’ headquarters in Brussels. They discussed relations between the two friendly countries and ways to enhance them, especially in the parliamentary field, in addition to discussing cooperation frameworks between Bahrain’s Council of Representatives and the Belgian House of Representatives, as well as the exchange of visits between them. The Ambassador reviewed the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain in empowering and advancing women through the implementation of the National Plan for the Advancement of Bahraini Women, and the practical application of the principle of providing equal opportunities for women and men alike. She also talked about the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain in dealing with the Coronavirus (Covid-19) and its repercussions, and how it mitigated the repercussions of the pandemic by providing free medical care, examination, treatment and vaccination services for all citizens and residents, in addition to providing support to the private sector and citizens through financial and economic packages from the start of the pandemic until today. She also touched on the national efforts in protecting human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain, stressing that this file receives great attention at all levels. President of the Belgian Parliament praised the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain in empowering women and achieving equality, hoping for boost of the Bahraini-Belgian relationship in all fields, including activation of the relationship between the two parliaments, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain further advancement and prosperity.
