NOGA, SEI sign national knowledge platform deal

Manama, May 25 (BNA): National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA)'s Chief Executive Officer Nasser Sultan Al Suwaidi signed a deal with Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI), to establish a national knowledge platform for the water sector in the Kingdom that will be a reference for all information related to water in its various sectors. The platform will contain the Decision Support System (DSS) that links data, studies, complex analytical models and data analysis tools by all water-related sectors to support decision-makers to make appropriate decisions. It will enable all ministries and government agencies related to the sector to obtain the necessary information and feed it with important data that their projects and initiatives require. The CEO praised the support provided by the institute in various environmental projects thanks to its long experience and high competencies capable of innovation, creativity and strategies that enhance water-related, common global environment and climate issues. He explained that the institute is one of the most important international non-profit research organizations and that it has more than five offices in various continents that work locally, regionally and globally. It is considered a pioneer in dealing with environmental and development challenges, which will contribute to developing future and sustainable solutions for the water sector in Bahrain, he added.
