Bahrain re-elected UNWTO's Executive Council member

Manama, May 27 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain has been re-elected member of the Executive Council of the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) to represent the Middle East region, along with the United Arab Emirates during the 2021-2024 period.
Bahrain was also re-elected member of UNWTO’s Credentials Committee during the elections held on the sidelines of the 47th meeting of UNWTO’s Regional Commission for the Middle East, organised by the Saudi Tourism Ministry on May 26 and 27.
The election crowns the tremendous efforts exerted by the kingdom to increase the contributions of the tourism sector, within its plans to diversify the economy, in addition to its advanced tourism infrastructure.
On the occasion, Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister and Board of Directors Chairman of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), Zayed bin Rashid Al-Zayani, extended sincere congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the exploit.
He expressed delight at the achievement that adds to the kingdom’s rich record of accomplishments at the regional and international levels, noting that the victory reflects the HM the King’s aspirations and is the positive outcome of the government’s support for the tourism sector in the kingdom.
