Youth and Sports Minister attends Arab meeting

Manama, May 28(BNA): Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs Aymen bin Tawfeeq Almoayyed took part in the meeting of the Arab Youth and Sports Ministers Council, which was held remotely via videoconference. The virtual session was attended by Arab League Assistant Secretary-General Haifa Abu Ghazala, Yemeni Vice Minister of Youth and Sports Munir Ahmed Al-Wajeeh, chair of current session, in addition to Arab ministers. The session discussed a number of issues, including a memorandum submitted by the Kingdom of Bahrain regarding the fourth edition of King Hamad Award for Empowering Youth to achieve the sustainable development goals (SDGs) and the sixth edition of Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Youth Creativity Award. During the session, the Arab ministers approved an initiative to honour late Shaikh Isa bin Rashid Al Khalifa, in recognition of his efforts to promote the sectors of youth and sports in the Arab World. Almoayyed stressed the importance of such meetings in consolidating pan Arab cooperation which would contribute to developing the sectors of youth and sports affairs.
