Online game firm NCsoft Q1 net quadruples

SEOUL, May 11 (Yonhap) -- NCsoft Corp., South Korea's leading online game
company, said Monday that its first-quarter earnings quadrupled on-year on strong
sales of its new flagship game title.

Net income amounted to 33.5 billion won (US$27.2 million) in the January-March
period, up 315 percent from 8.1 billion won a year earlier, the company said in a
regulatory filing.
Sales increased 51.4 percent on-year to 133.4 billion won, with operating profit
climbing 128.34 percent to 42.5 billion won, it added.
The company attributed the surge in the bottom line was attributed to a rise in
the sale of its fresh game title, "Aion".
