Bahraini-South Korean cultural cooperation discussed

Seoul, June 7 (BNA): President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, met here today a number of South Korean senior officials. Shaikha Mai is on a visit to Seoul at the invitation of the “Korea Foundation” to discuss ways to enhance cultural cooperation between the two countries. BACA President met South Korea’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Chung Eui-yong, with whom she discussed ways to enhance cultural relations and exchange between the two countries. The two sides highlighted the importance of promoting countries’ civilisations and identity. Shaikha Mai also held a meeting with South Korea’s Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Hwang Hee, with whom she discussed ways to launch joint cultural exchange projects. BACA President expressed thanks to the “Korea Foundation” President, Geun Lee, for inviting her to visit Seoul, affirming that the Korean presence always enriches the cultural movement in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The two sides discussed ways to implement joint cultural projects. Shaikha Mai’s visit to Seoul will continue until June 8. She is expected to hold more meetings with South Korean ministers, officials and heads of cultural institutions. She is also going to visit Seoul’s cultural landmarks, museums and cultural institutions.
