Al-Raya: Qatar Economic Forum is International Platform for Resolving Crises

Doha, June 13 (QNA) - In its editorial Sunday, Al-Raya newspaper highlighted Qatar Economic Forum, Powered by Bloomberg, which will be held from June 21 to 23 under the generous patronage of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, with the participation of the world's leading policy and decision-makers in the fields of finance, economics, investment, technology, energy, education, sports and climate.
Convening this forum under the theme "Reimagining the World" came with the aim to prepare plans that support the growth of the global economy during the post-Covid-19 pandemic and benefit from the strategic location of the State of Qatar as one being at the confluence of the East, West, and Africa to drive collaboration and connectivity as a means for advancing economic opportunity, the newspaper said.
This forum will discuss the repercussions of Covid-19 pandemic, which left an economic shock, caused turmoil in financial markets and reduced global growth, the paper said, pointing out that therefore, Qatar's initiative to organize this forum came to develop the necessary plans to get out of the Covid-19 crisis, which threatened the future of globalization and left its impacts on the economic conditions for generations to come.
Various themes will be discussed during the sessions, including global leadership in difficult times and towards a new economic plan, restructuring the global economy, redefining business, the future of the vaccine system in Africa and the new era of nationalism, in addition to the technological progress in the current era, the future of financial technology and the rapidity in changing the perception of the nature of work, Al-Raya added.
Dedicating sessions to discuss energy and trade flows, African trade transformation, the development of sovereign wealth, the world after Covid-19 pandemic, how to revitalize globalization, cross-border investment and the new security landscape come from the important role of the energy and trade sector and the importance of developing sovereign wealth, the newspaper noted.
Al-Raya concluded its editorial by saying that convening Qatar Economic Forum stems from Qatar's keenness on the importance of facing the repercussions of Covid-19 crisis and coming up with a collective position and common international visions, and confirms that Doha will remain the capital of international forums and conferences.
