Gov't issues travel advisories following flu outbreak

SEOUL, May 11 (Yonhap) -- The government issued on Monday overseas travel
advisories for seven countries that have confirmed cases of type-A influenza.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade issued advisories for China, Japan,
Australia, Brazil, Argentina, Panama and Poland.
The ministry said that people visiting those countries should check the latest
safety developments and pay attention to their health.
The new type-A H1N1 influenza that broke out en masse in Mexico last month has
claimed 53 lives.
A total of 48 people have died of the flu in Mexico, with three deaths reported
in the United States. Canada and Costa Rica reported one death each, while the
World Health Organization reported 4,694 confirmed cases in 30 countries earlier
in the day.
South Korea has three reported cases, while Japan and China confirmed four and
one, respectively.
