Donor project capital nears 1.5 billion USD
HCM City (VNA) - The total official development assistance capital committed by donors through agreements in the first four months of the year reached 1.459 billion USD, including 1.448 billion USD in loans and 11.66 million USD in non-refundable aid, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment.
The ODA loan commitments include a loan worth 410.2 million USD from the
Asian Development Bank for a project to build the 51 km HCM City -
Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway.
Japan has committed to provide 900 million USD in ODA loans to help Vietnam
implement four projects, including one to build a 11.5 km stretch of the
41.5 km urban rail line that will run from Noi Bai International Airport in
northern Hanoi to Ha Dong in the southwestern part of the city; and another
for the second phase of a project to upgrade the national road network that
will repair or replace bridges and improve the maintenance systems of the
network.
Total ODA capital disbursement in the first four months reached 300 million
USD, equal to 16 percent of this year's target, according to the ministry.
Of the disbursed capital, 239 million USD and 61 million USD were part of
loans and non-refundable aid, respectively.-Enditem
