Ministry of local administration holds a meeting on a project of
SANA'A, May 11 (Saba) - A consultative meeting was organized on
Monday by the Ministry of Local Administration with the UNDP
mission and representatives of women sectors in different government
corporations and civil society organizations over arrangements for
second phase for the project of supporting decentralization.
In the meeting, the deputy minister of the local administration for
women development Khadijah Radman reviewed current situation of the
women in local councils and their needs in field of capacity
building.
"The national strategy for the local ruling aims at developing local
system in the country within the frame of the comprehensive and
sustainable development," Radman said.
She added that the strategy focus on goals to extend the women
participation in the development process, highlighting role of the
UNDP and donors to support the project of the decentralization in
the country.
Deputy Minister of Information for Legal, Women and Children affairs
Fathiah Abdul-Wasa affirmed readiness of the ministry to train media
personnel to produce media materials on the strategy.
For her part, the official of developing policies at the UNDP in
Sana'a Jennifer Collfial reviewed task of the UNDP to help the
Yemeni government to draft and design projects of supporting the
national capacities to carry out the strategy.
