Euro 2020: Spain Beat Slovakia to Join Sweden in Round of 16

Seville, Spain, June 23 (QNA) - Spain and Sweden head to the round of 16 in the European Football Championship (Euro 2020), after their big victory against Slovakia 5-0 in the match that was held in the third (last) round of the Group E, which also saw Sweden win 3/2 over Poland. Despite the victory, the Spanish team, which has three titles in the tournament, finished in second place with five points, two points behind the leaders Sweden, to qualify together for the round of 16. Slovakia finished third with three points, to officially leave the tournament, after failing to be among the four best third-placed teams in the six groups, which have the right to advance to the playoffs, while Poland bottomed the standings with only one point. The big victory for Spain came to grant qualification to the next round for Ukraine, which is ranked third in Group C. (QNA)
