Doha, June 24 (QNA) - The coaches of the Kuwait and Bahrain national teams confirmed their teams' readiness to play the match that will bring them together tomorrow (Friday) in the qualifiers for the group stage of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021, expressing their ambition to qualify for the finals.
The two coaches stated this during the press conference held this evening. The coach of the Kuwaiti national team, Thamer Enad, stressed the importance of this match, saying: "Facing his Bahraini counterpart is a Gulf derby, and we know very well how strong our competitor is, the West Asian champion and the champion of the last edition of the Arab Gulf Cup, Certainly, the match will be strong from both teams, as the Bahraini is going through the same conditions as we are after exiting the qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, but he has great potential, a smart coach, is stable and will present a great match.
He added that the winning percentage outweighs the Bahraini over the Kuwaiti, but my confidence in the players and the technical and administrative staff is great, and we will present a good level in the match in order to achieve victory. I have 23 players in whom I fully trust to present a great match and everyone is ready and fully prepared to meet, and we are determined to compensate for the failure in playoffs.
On the Kuwaiti teams preparations affected by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Thamer Inad explained: "The whole world was affected by this virus, and we were affected in the preparations for the World Cup qualifiers and we went through difficult conditions, and there is a state of dissatisfaction from the fans and those responsible for the sport about what the team presented In the qualifiers, we hope to compensate everyone in our match against Bahrain, qualify for the Arab Cup and present a level worthy of Kuwaiti football."
He pointed out that he depends on the experienced players to tip the balance of the team as well as the young players, as the match is an opportunity to prove themselves, and confirm that they are able to return to their technical level, if the team is at the top of its technical, psychological and mental level, it will win the match.
When asked about the Kuwaiti teams return to the podiums again, he said: "We are optimistic after the decision of the Kuwaiti Minister of Sports, regarding the professional law, and this is the beginning of a return to crowning championships again, but we need time."
For his part, the Portuguese coach of the Bahraini national team, Helio Sousa, confirmed that facing his Kuwaiti counterpart will not be easy at all, pointing out that the Gulf privacy will be present in the match in light of the knowledge of both teams of each other.
