Bahraini Ambassador to Egypt participates in business forum

Cairo, June 27 (BNA): Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Arab Republic of Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, His Excellency Ambassador Hisham bin Mohammed Al-Jowder, participated today in the "Investment Opportunities in the Financial and Banking Sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Arab Republic of Egypt Forum,” which was held in Cairo today. The event was organized by the Bahrain Businessmen's Association in cooperation with the Egyptian Businessmen’s Association. H.E. the Ambassador affirmed that the rapid growth of the financial banking sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain mirrors the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Economic Development Board. He also noted that the Kingdom has become a regional banking center that has succeeded in attracting many foreign banking institutions. He added that for more than a century, and since the establishment of the first bank in Bahrain in 1920, the financial and banking sector in the Kingdom has recorded distinct success stories that have set a model for many other countries to follow. The Ambassador pointed out that the volume of Bahraini investments in Egypt amounted to $3.2 billion for 216 projects, where the Kingdom ranks 16th in the list of countries investing in the Egyptian market. He also reviewed the other business and trade opportunities between the two sides. H.E the Ambassador praised the great efforts exerted by the Egyptian government to attract Bahraini investments to Egypt. He also highlighted the business environment offered by the Kingdom of Bahrain to attract more investments.
