Health Minister chairs Combat AIDS National Committee meeting

Manama, June 29 (BNA): Health Minister Faiqa bint Saeed Al Saleh chaired The National Committee for Combating Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) second virtual meeting. The meeting reviewed the strategic plan to combat AIDS, the work of the sub-committees and the implementation of their plans based on the committee's objectives, in addition to following up the committee's portal developments, which includes informational content and media for community awareness. Head of the Disease Control Department at the Ministry of Health Dr. Adel Al-Sayyad, presented a report on the high-level meeting under the title "Ending Inequality, Ending AIDS", that will be held virtually on July 8-10, which included a speech by the Kingdom and the political declaration on HIV and AIDS, ending inequalities and taking the right track to eradicate AIDS by 2030, in addition to the review of the Global AIDS Strategy for the next five years 2021-2026.
