Al-Watan Warns Risks of Returning to Normal Life Globally, Urges Commitment to Precautionary Measures

Doha, July 03 (QNA) - Qatari newspaper Al-Watan said in its editorial Saturday that many countries have chosen to return to a full normal life, which is a matter that involves many risks, in light of the outbreak of new variants of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Al-Watan stressed the urgent important of the great commitment to the precautionary measures in addition to vaccination, noting that all studies have proven its ability to ward off infection or mitigate its effects.
The paper added that many countries are not able to control the spread of the pandemic, amidst an indication of the seriousness of the highly contagious mutated version "Delta", which was first detected in India and is now spreading in at least 85 countries, according to the World Health Organization, raising fears of new waves of the pandemic despite vaccination campaigns.
Delta forced some countries to review their strategies and impose strict measures to combat the pandemic or delay the lifting of restrictions, which confirms that the battle against the virus is still continuing. Therefore, it is necessary to exercise caution and strictly adhere to all the precautionary measures, Al-Watan concluded. (QNA)
