Kia to sell revamped Sorento in Europe from Sept.

SEOUL, May 12 (Yonhap) -- Kia Motors Corp., South Korea's second-largest
automaker, said Tuesday it will begin selling a revamped version of its Sorento
sport-utility vehicle in Europe starting in September.
Kia Motors Chief Executive Officer Chung Eui-sun, the only son of Hyundai Motor
Co. Chairman Chung Mong-koo, also said the company plans to sell the revamped
model in China by the end of this year.
The refurbished unit, named the Sorento R, is equipped with either a 2.2-liter
diesel engine, which meets European emission standards, or a 2.4-liter gasoline
engine.
"The Sorento R will be available for sales in the U.S. market next year as
planned," Chung said.
Hyundai and Kia form the world's sixth-largest automaker.
