Al-Sharq Affirms Qatar's Keenness on Importance of Enhancing, Developing Arab Joint Action

Doha, July 05 (QNA) - Al-Sharq affirmed on Monday the keenness of the State of Qatar on the importance of promoting and developing joint Arab action. In this sense, Qatar signed yesterday a cooperation agreement in the security field between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, during the meeting of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani with HE Minister of Interior of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Mazin Abdellah Hilal Al Farrayeh, the paper said. The paper stressed that this agreement reflects the common desire to strengthen bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, and represents a strong impetus for cooperation relations between the State of Qatar and the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The agreement is part of the State's strategic direction to give priority to relations with its brothers, and to give a new impetus to strengthening Arab-Arab relations, after years of differences, divisions and fragmentation of positions, the paper explained. Al-Sharq said that Qatar's presidency of the Arab League Council has launched a new phase of positive joint work, the results of which appeared in a number of files, foremost of which is the Palestinian cause, which witnessed fruitful cooperation between the State of Qatar, the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt, especially with regard to stopping the recent Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and reaching a ceasefire agreement between the Palestinian resistance and the occupation. The last meeting of the Arab League Council in Doha, chaired by Qatar, witnessed a new positive spirit and a desire by all parties to promote joint action, which was reflected in the results of that session, Al-Sharq pointed out. The paper concluded by saying that the great challenges facing the region, including protracted conflicts, in addition to the challenge related to confronting the Covid-19 pandemic, constitute a strong incentive to exert more efforts, whether through strengthening bilateral relations between Arab countries, or through collective and multilateral action in order to address all current challenges in the security, political, economic, health and other fields, for the benefit of the whole region and its people.
