Al-Raya: Qatar's Application of Third Phase of Lifting Coronavirus Restrictions Confirms Success in Confronting the Pandemic

Doha, July 09 (QNA) - Al-Raya newspaper, issued today, confirmed the success of the State of Qatar in confronting the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, which allowed it to enter the third phase of lifting restrictions, including new procedures that facilitate travel, return and the resumption of tourist and family entry visas. The newspaper pointed out that Qatar is entering this phase and has become one of the top ten countries in the world in terms of the rate of vaccination against the disease. The newspaper said in its editorial that Qatar is entering today with confidence the third phase of the plan to gradually lift the restrictions imposed as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, which reflects the success of the Qatari plan in dealing with the Coronavirus crisis, the third phase means lifting more restrictions, to finally lifting all restrictions in the event that everyone continues to abide by decisions and procedures that were recently approved. Al-Raya mentioned the Ministry of Interiors announcement of the resumption of issuing tourist and family entry visas, as of July 12, according to the measures announced, which is considered as good news for all, with the end of the pandemic approaching permanently from Qatar, indicating that Qatar, which started the procedures for the gradual lifting of restrictions, is still calling for caution, so that Qatar do not lose everything achieved in the national battle against the pandemic, and in order that efforts do not go in vain, everyone must adhere to precautionary measures so that the crisis will finish and things will return to normal as soon as possible. Al-Raya pointed out that the State of Qatar periodically updates entry and travel procedures according to the developments in the pandemic situation, and was able to overcome the second wave, and it is reaping the fruit of its proactive precautionary measures, as the number of infections is decreasing, and most of them are those coming from abroad who are dealt with professionally, and the new procedures included the classification lists for countries of arrival (Green, Yellow, and Red), and a quarantine policy for each classification applies to travelers coming to Qatar. To conclude its editorial, the newspaper stressed that Qatar is one of the top ten countries in the world in terms of the percentage of the population who have received their vaccination, as the Chair of the National Health Strategic Group on COVID-19 and Head of Infectious Diseases at Hamad Medical Corporation, revealed that a number of those who received two doses of vaccine in Qatar reached one million and half. This is putting Qatar in the ranks of the first ten countries in the world that achieved this percentage of vaccinations in relation to population, as government agencies were up to the responsibility and dealt with the Coronavirus crisis from the beginning with all seriousness and professionalism, as they adopted a tight plan, and the epidemiological indicators are promising and will push Qatar towards lifting more restrictions.
