In this regard, the two newspapers referred to the urgent medical aid that arrived om Friday to the Republic of Tunisia. It is not surprising of Qatar to extend a helping hand to brothers and friends around the world to confront the virus, despite its preoccupation with its national war against the pandemic, the papers affirmed. Al-Watan newspaper said that in implementation of the directives of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, two cargo planes (C-17) belonging to the Qatari Amiri Air Force arrived in the sisterly Republic of Tunisia yesterday, loaded with medical aid in support from the State of Qatar to the efforts of Tunisia in containing the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The aid includes a field hospital with a 200-bed capacity fully-equipped in terms of medical supplies, in addition to 100 ventilators, the paper explained. The medical aid comes in the framework of the State of Qatar's policy of enhancing international solidarity and cooperation to face the Coronavirus pandemic, and its policy of enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Tunisia, the paper pointed out. The newspaper stressed that Qatar was keen to allocate a large part of its development aid to developing and least developed countries around the world, as it made contributions of more than 140 million US dollars through international organizations and charities, with the aim of strengthening the capabilities of many countries to mitigate the impact of the pandemic, especially in the least developed countries. Also, the Doha Work Program for the next decade will serve as a starting point and a road map as the first work program that will address and give priority to addressing the repercussions of the Coronavirus pandemic on the least developed countries, in addition to assisting them in their path towards achieving development for the next ten years, in line with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the newspaper stated. Al-Watan added that the State of Qatar has provided urgent aid to those affected in many countries, pointing out that over the past years, the State of Qatar has greatly expanded its international aid program, by providing government donations in addition to those provided by Qatari charitable institutions. Since 2012, the State of Qatar has provided aid exceeding seven billion US dollars to more than 100 countries around the world. It has also provided humanitarian aid to a large number of friendly countries, and has sent tons of medical aid to more than 80 friendly countries. For its part, Al-Raya newspaper confirmed that based on Qatars belief in the importance of cooperation and partnership in facing the pandemic of the Coronavirus, Qatar continued to send medical aid to brothers and friends around the world. The aid includes a field hospital with a 200-bed capacity fully-equipped in terms of medical supplies, in addition to 100 ventilators, the paper explained. The medical aid comes in the framework of the State of Qatar's policy of enhancing international solidarity and cooperation to face the Coronavirus pandemic, and its policy of enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Tunisia, the paper said.
