Foreign Minister receives WHO Representative’s credentials

Manama, July 14 (BNA): Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, today received Dr. Tasnim Atatrah, who submitted her credentials as World Health Organization (WHO) Representative to the Kingdom of Bahrain. The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Health Faeqa bint Saeed Al-Saleh. Dr. Al Zayani welcomed Dr. Atatrah, congratulating her on holding this important international position, praising the WHO efforts to mitigate the repercussions of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19). He commended the WHO-led role in supporting countries’ efforts to develop health and medical services and to combat epidemics and diseases. He affirmed Bahrain's keenness to promote bilateral cooperation and coordination towards serving common interests, stressing the Kingdom's support to the organization. Dr. Atatrah lauded Bahrain’s successful efforts, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to combat the pandemic and mitigate its fallout. She stressed keenness to enhance joint cooperation and continuous coordination between the World Health Organization, the Ministry of Health and the competent authorities in Bahrain, wishing the Kingdom further progress and prosperity.
