Qatari Forum for Authors Invites Writers to Participate in UNESCO -Bangladesh International Prize for Creative Economy

Doha, July 15 (QNA) - The Qatari Forum for Authors invited Qatari writers and authors to nominate for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) - Bangladesh International Prize for the Creative Economy, which aims to recognize projects or programs organized by individuals, institutions or organizations in the field of creative economy in order to encourage youth starting from the age of 16 rewarding and promoting youth entrepreneurship. The Director General of the Qatari Forum for Authors Maryam Yassin Al Hammadi, encouraged Qatari writers and authors to apply for the award, which encourages creative thought, initiative and innovation and supports the efforts and talents of young people in various cultural fields, affirming that writers have played a leading and pioneering role throughout history and in various countries of the world through what they presented, not only at the level of writing, but also at the level of changing thought and developing societies. Al Hammadi asked the forums members to email the forum on programs.qfamcs.gov in case of participation, bearing in mind that the deadline for submission is July 21, 2021. The invitation, which was published by the forum on social networking sites, stated the nomination conditions, which must include a description of the candidate’s background and the initiatives achievements, in addition to a detailed description showing how the initiative contributes to the awards objectives. Supporting documents (photos, video testimonials from the beneficiaries of the program, reports), and a letter of support from the Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture and Science must be attached. It is noteworthy that the creative economy includes various sectors such as cinema, design, media arts, music, performing arts, publishing and visual arts. (QNA)
