The newspapers stressed that the State of Qatar was and still stands with the Yemeni people in their crises, and has not and will not falter in its humanitarian and moral duty to provide various types of support and humanitarian assistance to Yemen. For its part, Al-Raya newspaper, under the headline 'New Qatari Relief for Yemen', said that the continuous Qatari relief support to Yemen reflects the extent of the close, historic and strategic relationship between the two countries, pointing out that Qatar has supported the Yemeni people in many situations. The varied Qatari relief aid in Yemen provided food, as well as integrated health services and development programs, the newspaper said, emphasizing that the security, stability, relief and development of Yemen are top priority for Qatar and its people. The newspaper stressed that the Qatari position towards Yemen remained constant and stemmed from the ties of brotherhood, religion and common history, adding that Qatar was and still stands by the brotherly people in their crises, as it supported their unity, independence and territorial integrity. Al-Raya explained that the only way to solve the Yemeni crisis is negotiation between the Yemenis, in order to achieve peace, sustainable development, and improvement of the humanitarian situation in Yemen. Al-Raya continued by saying that Qatar has not and will not falter in its humanitarian and moral duty to provide various types of support and humanitarian assistance, in order to mitigate the repercussions of the humanitarian crisis on the Yemeni people, and it has been keen to strengthen cooperation with the United Nations and various humanitarian agencies and organizations to enable them to reach those in need of humanitarian relief in Yemen. It added that the Qatari aid will be a balm that heals the wounds of Yemenis and enhances their steadfastness in the face of pandemics and deadly diseases. Al-Raya concluded its editorial by stating that with the spread of pandemics in the current times, the Yemeni people need an improved health system, in order to have a decent life, pointing out that Qatar responds to the call of the brothers and comes to their aid, believing in a sense of responsibility towards them under all circumstances. Al-Watan newspaper highlighted the directives of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to allocate $100 million in support of the efforts of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to ensure food security and stave off famine in Yemen. The newspaper said, in an editorial entitled 'Supporting the Yemenis', that the directives came at a critical time in Yemen, as our brothers there are suffering difficult life conditions, adding that it came only several months after Qatar pledged $70 million to support the UN response plan in Yemen. It pointed out that in 2019, the State of Qatar announced a donation of $27 million in support of the United Nations humanitarian response plan in Yemen. Qatar's assistance to Yemen has not stopped, the newspaper affirmed, adding that Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) initiated an Eid Clothing project in Amanat Al-Asimah, Yemen, for the benefit of 800 destitute families. Al-Watan concluded its editorial by pointing out that the project's mechanism involves distributing prepaid vouchers to the target families, adding that three clothes shops were contracted, so that the families would go there to select the new clothes their children like. The newspaper explained that this year's Eid Clothing project for Eid Al-Adha is part of the campaign launched in Ramadan under the theme of "Race to All That Is Good", and it comes amid deteriorated humanitarian conditions suffered by Yemeni people all over the country. Under the title 'Qatar... A Pioneering Model in Humanitarian Action', Al-Sharq newspaper said that the directives of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to allocate $100 million in support of the efforts of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to ensure food security and stave off famine in Yemen represents the essence of Qatar's vision and commitment to humanitarian action based on the principle of cooperation and partnership. It added that it also reflects the humanitarian face of the State of Qatar and its support for the people in conflict areas. Al-Sharq said that the State of Qatar has remained on the side of the Yemeni people at all times, and this initiative of HH the Amir is not the first, as it was preceded by many similar initiatives, including an initiative to fight cholera in Yemen in agreement with the United Nations. The newspaper added that Yemen is not the only example, as Qatar's development relief contributions have extended to more than 100 countries around the world. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Qatar provided medical and other assistance to dozens of countries around the world, the newspaper stated, noting the initiative of HH the Amir to provide a grant of $500 million to help in the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip after the recent Israeli aggression, in addition to his directives to stand beside Lebanon and other countries.
