Al-Sharq Affirms Qatar's Keenness on Regional Stability

Doha, July 26 (QNA) - In its Monday's editorial, Al-Sharq daily underlined HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani's visit to Tehran yesterday, and HE's meeting with HE President-elect of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ebrahim Raisi, as well as his meeting with HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif.
The paper said that the visit affirms Qatar's keenness on stability of the region and on strengthen bilateral cooperation relations between the two countries.
The newspaper pointed out that HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani's visit to Iran is of particular importance this time, as it comes after his visit to the United States and his meetings with US officials, especially with HE US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and with HE National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, during which developments in the region, especially in Afghanistan, Iran, Syria and Palestine were discussed.
Al-Sharq said that what enhances the interest in this visit, is the distinguished relations of the State of Qatar with Washington, and the fact that they enjoy the confidence of both sides, which helped the success of many efforts led by Doha in earlier times to maintain calm.
The paper noted that HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, during his stay in Washington, stressed the urgent need for an open and transparent dialogue between the GCC countries and Iran to achieve stability in the region, as the State of Qatar has been calling for constantly, based on its belief in the principles of dialogue, and in order to ensure stability in the region and to advance cooperation in a manner that achieves common interests and prosperity for all the peoples of the Gulf and the region in general.
Al-Sharq concluded by saying that the assurances made by the Iranian President-elect Ibrahim Raisi, during his meeting with HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, that the priority of his foreign policy will be for the region and neighboring countries, and that Tehran wants the good for all neighboring countries and is ready to do what achieves this, represents a sign of advancing regional dialogue in the interests of all.
