Reception held in Brussels for Lao Taekwondo
(KPL) The Lao embassy in Brussels, Belgium organized on 5 May a reception to congratulate the Lao Taekwondo Team who received the gold medal from the 6th Coupe du Monde Francophone, which was held on May 3-4, 2009 in Lille, France.
The function drew a record 26 World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) member countries, reflecting the growing importance of the regional event.
Among the participating nations in the biggest taekwondo event among French-speaking WTF member national associations were 18 African countries.
Speaking at the function, Mr. Southam Sakoniyom, Lao Ambassador to Belgium expressed congratulations to Lao Taekwondo team’s coach and all athletes for their great efforts and contributions to the competition.
The Lao Taekwondo team visited Paris and Brussels before returning home.
