SEA president discusses benefiting from renewable energy with Adiby Racing

Manama, Aug. 3 (BNA): President of the Sustainable Energy Authority (SEA) Dr. Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza received Adiby Racing team headed by the team’s owner Ali Adiby.
Dr. Mirza praised Adiby Racing’s interest in promoting the concepts of sustainability in racing and exploring the possible aspects for benefiting from renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies to reduce the carbon footprint of racing.
SEA president briefed them on the achievements made by Bahrain in the fields of energy sustainability, in particular renewable energy and energy efficiency, and the strides made by the Kingdom in achieving the national goals for renewable energy and energy efficiency.
He highlighted the initiatives that the SEA is working to achieve during 2021, in addition to the most prominent tenders that were launched and others expected to be launched for major projects.
Dr. Mirza said that the national goals are set to reach the share of renewable energy resources in the total energy mix by 5% by 2025, rising to 10 % by 2035, through cooperation between government agencies, the private sector and civil society.
SEA president highlighted the initiative of the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) to benefit from solar energy in its facilities as an example to follow in achieving sustainability in sports and racing and reduce the carbon footprint of racing, wishing Adiby Racing continued success in representing Bahrain in the best way nationally and internationally.
The delegation discussed the team's upcoming events and participation in the European Motorcycle Championships and the World Cup for Electric Bikes (Moto E) in cooperation with an international team.
They expressed their pride in the Kingdom's achievements in the areas of energy sustainability and the activation of its concepts in racing to enable this vital sport to be a contributing partner in achieving the sustainable development process in Bahrain, and the role of the SEA to achieve this.
