S. Korea, Indonesia to discuss anti-terror efforts
SEOUL, May 14 (Yonhap) -- South Korea and Indonesia will hold working-level
consultations on ways to counter terrorism in Jakarta later this week, Seoul's
foreign ministry said Thursday.
In the meeting, slated for Friday, the two sides will exchange views on the
terrorism-related situations in their regions and discuss how to strengthen
cooperation on the matter, the ministry added.
"The two sides will reaffirm their resolve for cooperation on anti-terrorism
efforts, thus not only bolstering bilateral cooperation but also helping promote
multilateral cooperation," it said.
South Korea will be represented by Lee Joon-gyu, the ministry's ambassador for
counter-terrorism, in the session, the second of its kind, and his counterpart
will be Ansyaad Mbai, head of the anti-terror squad of the Indonesian Department
of Security and Political Affairs. The previous meeting was held in Jakarta in
2005.
