Al-Watan Highlights Qatar's Support for Development Projects in Somalia

Doha, August 09 (QNA) - Al-Watan newspaper highlighted in its editorial Monday the State of Qatar's support for development projects in Somalia and its efforts to alleviate its humanitarian suffering in times of crisis. The newspaper hailed the inauguration of the health centre built by Qatar Charity (QC) in the Galmudug State of Somalia, noting Somalia's First Lady Saynab Abdi Moallim's praise for Qatar's support to the Somali people, as she expressed her gratitude for the immediate response of QC to this centre, which is considered as an integrated hospital for the people of the area. Many Somali officials praised Qatar Charity's role in supporting the Somali people in various fields, especially in health sector, which is considered one of the vital sectors due to its great importance for people, Al-Watan said. This centre would reduce the risks that residents were exposed to due to the absence of health centres in the city as the nearest health centre is about 256 km from the city, which exposes patients and pregnant women to dangers due to its proximity, rugged roads, and lack of facilities, the newspaper added. By constructing this center, Qatar Charity has achieved a dream of pregnant mothers and the elderly and has contributed to saving thousands of patients and alleviating their suffering, Al-Watan concluded.
