Al-Watan Condemns Targeting Palestinian Existence Through Continuous Israeli Violations

Doha, August 11 (QNA) - Al-Watan denounced on Wednesday the targeting of the Palestinian existence and the tightening of the siege on it, through various continuous Israeli violations without supervision or accountability.
The newspaper held the Israeli entity fully and directly responsible for these violations, and their consequences and repercussions on security and stability in the region. It also held the international community and the United States this responsibility for their unjustified silence and a deliberate policy of double standards.
In its editorial, Al-Watan said that the Israeli siege imposed on the Gaza Strip for the 15th year in a row has tightened the screws on the lives of orphaned children, as thousands suffer from difficult humanitarian and economic conditions, as a result of tightening the screws on charitable associations and institutions concerned with orphans' affairs, or closing their accounts which receive remittances to support orphans, especially as the school season approaches and the mothers who care for them lack the means to provide school supplies of uniforms and stationery.
The paper explained that the Israeli occupation has not stopped since 1948, targeting the Palestinian existence through the policy of mass demolition, and even not a single day passes without the occupation authorities, with their settlers and various arms, committing a new crime added to their series of violations and continuing crimes against the Palestinian people, their land, property, holy sites and homes.
Al-Watan pointed out that the massacre of house demolitions that took place in Jerusalem last Monday, the displacement of about 40 Palestinians, including children and women, the demolition of commercial facilities and a water tank in Jenin governorate, the leveling of lands east of Bethlehem for the purposes of settlement expansion, and other attacks that rise to the level of war crimes and crimes against humanity, all of which are indicators of the extent of what Israel is committing against the defenseless Palestinian people.
The newspaper concluded its editorial by saying that Israel bears full and direct responsibility for this crime and its consequences and implications for security and stability in the region, and for opportunities for peace based on the principle of a two-state solution and the principle of land for peace, pointing out that the international community must immediately stop pursuing a policy of double standards, in addition to the double standards in dealing with international issues and conflicts, especially since this duality greatly weakens the international system, and strikes at the credibility of the United Nations and its resolutions, if not providing cover for Israel as a replacement settlement occupation state, and a discriminatory apartheid state.
