Al-Raya Hails Qatar's Great Efforts in Confronting Covid-19 Pandemic

Doha, August 25 (QNA) - Qatari daily Al-Raya affirmed on Wednesday that the State of Qatar is moving at a steady pace towards combating the Covid-19 pandemic.
In its editorial, the paper underlined the tremendous efforts undertaken by the State to eradicate the disease, as the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) announced that the National Covid-19 Vaccination Program has achieved significant milestone with 2 million people are now fully vaccinated.
The newspaper said that since the start of the COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign in late December, the State of Qatar made strenuous efforts in order to return to normal life, and despite the challenges and the virulence of the disease, it was able to maintain its medical primacy in the face of the pandemic and deal professionally with the epidemiological situation.
The paper noted that Qatar was able to overcome the second wave, thanks to its proactive precautionary measures, as COVID-19 infections are decreasing, and the majority of them are likely coming from abroad.
The new measures announced recently included classification lists for countries of arrival "green, yellow, red" and with different quarantine restrictions applying to each, the paper also noted.
The daily also hailed the government bodies that dealt with Covid-19 crisis from the beginning with all seriousness and professionalism, as they adopted a strict plan to deal with the disease.
Qatar's National Covid-19 Vaccination Program, has focused on vaccinating the population groups most vulnerable to health risks associated with this disease, such as the elderly, people with certain chronic conditions, key healthcare workers, essential workers and first-line workers, and then it was expanded in record time to include the rest of the community, and those over the age of 12 years.
In conclusion, Al-Raya praised the State of Qatar's keenness on vaccinating the population as soon as possible, noting that 2 million people have so far been fully vaccinated with two doses inside Qatar, which gives hope that things will soon return to normal. (QNA)
