FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Qualifiers: Doha Hosts Australia Vs China & Iraq Vs Iran

Kula Lumpur, August 26 (QNA) - The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) announced the approval of Khalifa International Stadium in Doha, in order to host the second group match in the final round of the Asian qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, which brings together Australia and China, on September 2, as well as to host the first group match, between Iraq and Iran on September 7. Doha's hosting of the two matches comes within the framework of the Asian Football Confederation's efforts to provide the best standards of safety and security, and to ensure that matches are played in the best conditions for all parties to the game. It was previously announced that Qatar was also chosen to host the match between China and Japan in the second group, and the Jordanian capital, Amman, was chosen to host the match of the Syrian national team against the UAE in the first group, so that with the new announcement, all the stadiums for the matches of the first and second rounds of the qualifiers were confirmed on September 2 and 7. The Asian Football Confederation also agreed to the request of the South Korean Football Association to change the order of the first group matches between South Korea and Lebanon, so that the first match between the two teams will be held on September 7 in Seoul, before Lebanon hosts the second match between the two teams on January 27, 2022.
