Foreign Ministry’s Human Rights Chief attends Arab meeting

Cairo, Aug. 31 (BNA): Foreign Ministry’s Chief of Human Rights Affairs, Dr. Arwa Hasan Alsayed, participated at the meeting of the Permanent Arab Committee for Human Rights, which was held from 30-31 August, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo. Arab League Assistant Secretary General Dr. Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, conveyed the greetings of the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States . Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and his appreciation for the efforts made at the level of the Permanent Arab Human Rights Committee to strengthen the foundations of the Arab human rights system. During the meeting, means to support and promote human rights at the level of member states of the League of Arab States were discussed, in addition to the special developments of the Arab Charter, the Arab Human Rights Day and the draft Arab strategy for human rights. Recommendations related to the meeting were also made to follow up and coordinate their implementation with the competent authorities.
