Speaker stresses the role of parliamentary diplomacy

Vienna, Sep.6 (BNA): Council of Representative Speaker Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal stressed Bahrain’s keenness on building good relations with all countries in the world.
She underlined the importance of establishing constructive cooperation with other states which would have a regional and international positive impact.
She reiterated support to unremitting efforts aimed to bolster partnership and cooperation between national legislative institutions and the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), which would contribute to tackling crises, particularly the current pandemic challenges.
Zainal is leading Bahrain’s delegation to the 13th Summit of Women Speakers of Parliament and the First Global Parliamentary Summit on Counter-Terrorism organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in the Austrian capital Vienna.
She held meetings with a number of speakers and parliamentary officials from Belgium, Argentina and the UK on the sidelines of the global gatherings in Vienna.
She undercored the important role of parliamentary diplomacy which stems from His Majesty the King’s vision to open on other countries and strengthen inter-state relations.
She said that Bahrain is moving forward on the path of development and progress, supported by national visions and strategies.
The meetings were attended by Council of Representatives First Deputy Speaker Mp Abdulnabi Salman and Shura Council Second Vice Chairperson Jameela Salman.
