Qatar SC Wins Men's Table Tennis League

Doha, September 06 (QNA) - Qatar SC table tennis team won the men's league championship for the 2020-2021 sports season, second in a row after recently winning the Federation Cup. Qatar FC won the title in the penultimate round of the league, before concluding the competitions by defeating Al Sadd SC (4-2), at Lusail Hall to end the tournament without any loss, wining the title for the fourth time after achieved it last season 2019-2020. Al-Arabi SC defeated Al-Rayyan SC (4-0) in the second match of the final round of the league. President of the Qatar and Arab Table Tennis Federations, and First Vice President of the Asian and International Federations, Khalil Al Mohannadi, crowned the winners. Vice President of Qatar Club, HE Sheikh Suhaim bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani, and members of the Clubs Table Tennis Committee, received the championship cup. Al-Mohannadi in a statement on this occasion, confirmed that Qatar SC deserved to be crowned with the title after distinguished level presented throughout the tournament, "the technical level of the league championship was very strong, especially with the change of the championship system this year, which contributed to the extension of the title struggle until the penultimate round" he said. Al-Mohannadi wished success to all teams during the Amirs Cup competitions, stressing that all teams have the chances of winning the title, warning at the same time to follow precautionary measures to limit the spread of the Corona Virus (Covid-19) in order to end the season that the pandemic caused delay. In turn, head of the table tennis apparatus at Qatar SC, Khaled Al-Kuwari expressed his happiness with the victory of his team "Qatar SC seeks to break records by obtaining the title of His Highness the Amir's Cup, which is witnessing the celebration of the Silver Jubilee by holding the 25th edition of the tournament" he said.
