HH Amir's Table Tennis Cup: Al-Arabi, Al-Rayyan Qualify for Second Stage

Doha, September 08 (QNA) - Al-Arabi SC and Al-Rayyan SC have won the qualification cards for the second stage of the 25th edition of the HH Amirs Table Tennis Cup for the 2020-2021 sports season by achieving the full mark and without any loss. Al-Arabi managed to achieve second victory in a row, against Al-Khor 3-1, after defeated Al-Wakra 3-0 in the first round in of the second round of the first stage of the competition which was held Wednesday at Lusail Hall, Al Arabi officially qualified for the second stage. Al-Rayyan joined Al-Arabi in the second qualifying stage for the final, after achieved second victory over Al-Ahly 3-1, Al-Gharafa defeated Al-Shamal 3-1 in the third match. Two teams from each group qualify from first stage to the second stage, which will also be divided into two groups, group A includes Qatar Club (the league champion), with the group B winner and the second of group A who qualified from the first stage of the competitions, while the group B includes Al-Sadd (the league runner-up), along with the winner of the first group and the second group runner up. In the second stage, the first of each group qualifies for the final match, while the rest teams will play in the standing matches. The matches of the first phase will continue until Thursday, then the second phase will start on Friday until September 12th. The champions of the two groups from the second stage will meet in the final match on September 14 at Abdullah bin Suhaim Hall in Qatar Club, while the match for the third and fourth places will be held on the 13th of the same month in the same hall.
