AFRICA DIPLOMATIC CORPS TO CELEBRATE AFRICA DAY
KUALA LUMPUR, May 16 (Bernama) -- Africa Diplomatic Corps accredited to
Kuala Lumpur will be celebrating the 46th anniversary of Africa Day on May 25.
Kenyan High Commissioner to Malaysia and Dean of Africa Diplomatic Corps
David Gachoki Njoka said they would be joined by Africans and all diplomats,
Malaysian officials and friends of Africa in the celebration.
It is being organised to pay tribute to their forefathers whose action
helped liberate Africa and secure its dignity.
"It will be a tribute to all those men and women from Africa who refused to
accept domination and gave up their lives to ensure that freedom is a reality on
the old continent, the cradle of all civilizations," he said in a statement
here.
Njoka said Africa is today conscious of its vast potential and is determined
to exploit it for the good of its people by pooling resources together.
"Today Africa, through its visionary leaders, is seeking commitment towards
integration and is mobilizing its human and natural resources to face the common
challenges of poverty, trade, investment and communication," he said.
