S. Korean cargo drivers set for general strike

DAEJEON, May 16 (Yonhap) -- A nationwide union of South Korean truck drivers
voted Saturday to launch a strike to demand better working conditions, raising
the specter of logistical chaos in the country.
The Cargo Coalition, which claims 1,5000 members, said details of its planned
walkout, including the timing and the exact method, will be decided later by its
leadership.
About 7,000 members of the coalition gathered in Daejeon, some 160 km south of
Seoul, and voted for the collective action, according to related officials.
