Bahrain’s Ambassador hails cooperation with the UK

London, Sep.22 (BNA): Bahrain’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa held a meeting with Tom Tugendhat MP, Chairman of the UK Foreign Affairs Select Committee, and discussed issues of common interests, regional and international developments. The ambassador stressed the importance of bolstering joint cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom across all fields, including trade exchanges and investments. He highlighted the role of Bahrain as incumbent chair of the GCC session in furthering trade and investment cooperation between Gulf countries and the UK. MP Tugendhat hailed Bahrain’s support to the evacuation operations from Afghanistan and relief aid shipments for the Afghan people, describing the Kingdom as a partner in international humanitarian solidarity. He also praised the steps undertaken by the Bahraini in combating the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), which ranked the Kingdom among pioneering countries which responded promptly to the pandemic.
