Russia 2022: Drawing of Lots Sets-Off Countdown to Men's Volleyball World Championship

Doha, September 27 (QNA) - The Drawing of Lots ceremony for the FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship Russia 2022 has been confirmed to take place on 30 September 2021 at Moscow's Irina Viner-Usmanova Gymnastics Palace, to determine the pool composition for the 24 participating teams along with Qatar team whose qualified for the first time in its history to the finals through the world rankings. The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) announced that the Qatari team came in the 20th place in the world rankings with 166 points, in the classification of the teams for the month of September, to guarantee one of the 12 seats qualify for the world championship through the classification, this came after the team achieved the title of the Asian Elite Cup in its sixth edition, which was held in China, Taipei / Taiwan, in addition to obtaining fourth place in the AFC Jakarta 2018, as well as its results in the Asian qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Qatar team ranked third in Asia in the world ranking of volleyball teams, behind Iran, the tenth in the world, with 258 points, and Japan, eleventh in the world, with 252 points, the team also ranked third in the Arab world after Tunisia, the fourteenth in the world, with 189 points, and Egypt, the nineteenth in the world, with 167 points. President of the Qatar and West Asia Federations, Vice-President of the Asian Confederation, and member of the Board of Directors of Beach Volleyball at the (FIVB), Ali bin Ghanem Al Kuwari, state that Qatar team will be prepared well to present an honorable image of the Arabs with teams of Tunisia and Egypt in the World Cup finals, Pointing to the preparation of an integrated program for the team, including strong training camps and international matches at the highest level to gain skills and experience.
